I needed to get on a Pre Diabetic Diet. No one in the family has been a Type 1 diabetic so far. However, everyone over the age of 45 is a Type 2 diabetic. My mother, father, both brothers, grandparents and aunts and uncles all either are Type 2 diagnosed or have had elevated blood glucose tests. I want to break that cycle. We are a family that is mostly overweight. I am exercising to keep the weight off and the muscle mass intact. However, I need to eat right as well. My last blood test showed that I have been having a slight increase in blood glucose level over the past three months. When I check using a glucometer, I never get a high reading. I get top normal readings, and that is scary enough. It is going high at some point. It might be in the middle of the night or at other times I don’t test, but it is going high. The diet, combined with my exercise, will stave off this disease and the complications. I have seen what the complications can do.
